Implement a Word a Day program to increase student vocabulary during Chumash or Ivrit instruction. Discussing and learning a new word can create an explosion of thinking that leads to better mastery of the language. Students begin to understand the meaning, use the word to create a sentence, or find it in the text. Teachers can also use the word as a transition technique and use phrases like, “When I say the word of the day, everyone is going to …”
