My Illuminated Torah Page

Description

Enhance the learning from any parsha in the Illuminated Torah Parsha Series with this hands-on component. Using one of the blank design templates provided, have students write a personal reflection on the parsha in the lined space and then create a decorative frame inspired by the style and artistic interpretation of the Illuminated Torah. Encourage students to apply the concepts of microcalligraphy and illuminated manuscript art to create their Torah-based masterpieces. Examples of the artistic interpretations of Rabbi Yonah Weinrib, whose art and text interpretations are featured in our Illuminated Torah Parsha Series, are included here for visual reference.
